Safety Steps for Preventing Burglaries & Thefts
Ensure the following to Prevent Burglaries & Thefts:
| 1. | Use security gadgets available in the market i.e. alarm close circuit TV. |
| 2. | Use door chain, magic eye, dummy camera etc. |
| 3. | Lock your doors and windows before leaving the house even for short time. |
| 4. | Never leave keys of house under doormat, flowerpots, and electricity meter box. |
| 5. | Use good quality locks. |
| 6. | Inform your newspaper hawker to stop delivery during your absence. |
| 7. | Inform police immediately in case you found burglaries, which will help the police to collect clues. |
| 8. | Engrave your identification on electronics equipment i.e. TV, Camera, Computer etc. It will help the police in recovery. |
| 9. | Keep Photograph your jewelry, antiques and silverware. |
| 10. | Be a good neighbor and inform your neighborhood to keep watch on your house during your absence. |
| 11. | Leave your trip plan and telephone number with trusted neighbor or friend. |
| 12. | If you are leaving the house for few hours switch on your Radio/TV. |
| 13. | Call known Plumber, electrician, carpenter. |
| 14. | Keep your home well lit at night, inside & out side especially for senior citizens. |
| 15. | Never let a stranger into your home for making telephone call, for glass of water etc. |
| 16. | Don't leave any note on door. |
| 17. | Get the antecedents of your servant verified through police. |
| 18. | Keep your servants away from your bedroom. |
| 19. | Keep pet dog if possible. |
| 20. | Connect your house with neighbor with alarm bell (for Senior Citizens). |
| 21. | Don't keep huge cash & jewelry at home. |
| 22. | Don't disclose your family secrets to servants/strangers. |
| 23. | Don't believe persons approaching you for polishing your jewelry at home. |
| 24. | Don't believe in such person's claming to double your gold/money. |
| 25. | Record of all your valuables and their insurance. |
| 26. | Information about suspicious persons in the neighborhood to the Police Control Room Phone 100 or nearest Police Station be passed. |
